We should be able to develop software to our unreleased product (like an OS, being developed by another team).
Ex: A Visual Tool being developed for an OS (not yet released).

Yes please, this is a great idea.  Worst part about releasing an OS is having to build half a dozen per-requisites before you can start really putting out games.

I would like this. Let you develop a product up to release point, then putting it on up coming release while you redevelop tools and products for it and start marketing it. So you can have a big release with software and games that go with your OS. Costly to do it this way perhaps, but will give you a boost to initial sales perhaps? Since there is stuff out that goes with your new OS on release.

Great idea. But to keep it real (and not too easy  8)) maybe time for designing and developing could be longer (maybe 125%) as long as you're not using QA, team leader and project management.
