Suggestions and ideas / Re: ADD SUBSPECIALIZATION CHECK BOX
« on: June 16, 2018, 09:08:14 AM »
You can already achieve what you want but without check boxes. If you click the "Manage Teams" button, you'll find there's a slider called "Minimum Specialization". Select one of your teams and adjust the minimum specialization slider to a higher percentage. Now members of that team can only use skills that are at or above that percentage. So if you adjust the slider to 90% for example, and you have a programmer with weak system programming skills and weak 3D art skills but perfect Algorithm programming skills, he'll be able to only use his Algorithm programming skills while he's on that team, and won't be able to use the skills that he's not really good at. Using this, you can achieve developing outstanding software.

Modding / Re: Adding OS category
« on: June 13, 2018, 02:43:39 AM »
Apparently the solution was to add a <SoftwareCategory Category="***">%%%%</SoftwareCategory> tag (replace asterix "*" with your respective category and percentage "%" with desired year) to these features: 64-bit, Networking, Multitasking, Multithreading and 3D rendering.

Modding / Adding OS category
« on: June 12, 2018, 08:16:01 AM »
I want to do something simple. The game comes with 3 operating systems categories: Computer, Console, and Phone. All I want to do is add a 4th, for now. So, what I did was I copied the "phone" category with all the tags between <Category> and </Category> and I changed the name, description and all the numbers (number are between 0 and 1, except "Unlock" which is 2008). But when I save the file and load the game all I get is "Failed loading mod" at the bottom left of the splash screen. I spend hours trying to troubleshoot, but I still have no idea what causes this. Can anyone please help?

General Discussion / Release imminent
« on: September 05, 2017, 10:44:35 PM »
I made an account when I saw the post that said the release is imminent just to say this: Please don't release the game yet.

I've been watching guys playing this game on youtube, but in doesn't look nearly close to being complete yet. And this is why...

Once you create your first fast-selling software (which is really easy to do), the game just gets easier - more complicated as you grow, yes, but much more easy.

I love this game, but it' doesn't seem challenging. There are no goals to reach. And even if there were goals, you'd just keep repeating the same process to reach them.

So, I'd say, while this game is awesome, it gets boring really fast. So, please don't release the game yet. Add more features to it. I really want to buy this game, but not like this.

UPDATE: I feel dumb. When they said release was imminent, I thought the final game release. Turns out it was the Alpha 9. So, sorry about that. Anyway, please take my comment as a suggestion to improve the game. I'd really love to buy it.
