There you go drock. Consider that the 'community' version! Just to reiterate, everyone is welcome to modify the mod on their own, and even to redistribute assuming credit is given where its due ;) but I appreciate what amensch has done and am in support of it. I'm just not able currently to spend the necessary time updating and working on the mod :/

Due to the changes coming to the game, and previous changes already in place, I no longer see ModSauce being viable in its current state. After Alpha 7 drops I will reevaluate and see if ModSauce can be rebuilt, but with company specializations and software categories coming I don't see ModSauce being worthwhile in its current state. Thank you all for your support and helping reach almost 500 total downloads! I hope to work some over Christmas break since this semester has crushed my desire to put in any work on the mod. Stay frosty ya'll!

Hey there, sorry for the late response, been busy with school. Ok so the thing to remember with this mod is it simply adds more software so the "Research" is literally a piece of software you create. Also, most new softwares from this mod do not unlock until 1985. So what you should do is start a game at 1990, create the "Hardware Research" under software development tab and then create a coding language under the same tab same as you would create an OS in vanilla Software Inc. Make sense?

Hey Angel, there actually is a cutoff point in the Software selection screen. If it has too many characters, it gets cut off and looks reallllly bad so that is why I shortened it. Its also why the Programming Language is called Coding Language. I'm sorry if it bugs you :/ its kinda a choice of two evils

Hello good people! In celebration of ModSauce reaching over 200 total downloads, I am happy to announce that I am working on an expansion to ModSauce. No, not a regular update, this will be a rather large expansion with its own research trees to expand the late game with interesting new software types and engines to create.

BUT, I need your help! If you have suggestions on software types, research trees, or features you would like to see in this expansion, please post here and I promise I will consider each one. I cannot promise I'll include every suggestion however.

Thank you all for your support of ModSauce through the last months. It has been a blast to evolve the mod and receive feedback so I wanted to make this expansion even more open to the community.

My current goal is to release this expansion shortly after Alpha 6 is released so that it you can enjoy it alongside the new features from Alpha 6. Since there is no definite release date, I won't post progress reports or such until I know when I want to release it. Also since school is starting soon too, I'll be busy enough as it is, but rest assured I'll be working on it!

Actually guys, it is totally possible to overwrite base game files using xml. Its documented in the wiki, but basically you just create a software type with the same name and the Overwrite tag. However, I have chosen to modify as little as possible because it would cause problems with other mods that overwrite the same files, thus causing compatibility issues, so for the sake of keeping ModSauce user friendly I have changed very little

One thing that can really decrease employee effectiveness is the computer they are using. Try calling/hiring an IT staff to fix up the computers

Yes it is through scenarios, but theres no guarantee such products would be as popular as they are in real life if I understand the modding aspect correctly

Valcav its because none of these mods have been updated for Alpha 5.2
The only mod that I know of that is fully compatible with 5.2 is ModSauce but even that isn't working correctly due to bugs in Software Inc. itself

When using a mod with dependency trees, everything works great until the game is saved then loaded back up. Once it has been loaded, attempting to create software that requires other software fails because the selection screen is blank even though the software has been created and released and shows up in the releases screen. This only happens after a load and has been tested and confirmed with ModSauce and a brand new test mod containing only two basic software types, one of which requires the other. This hasn't happened before so its post-Alpha 5.
