Has any one gotten the Companies.xml file to actually work?  After editing the file I am unable to see my company that I have made.

How do you add an thumbnail image to your steam workshop content?
I uploaded an image to be my thumbnail but it is not displaying in the thumbnail slot.

  • Random Events Events such as server crashes, tour guides, internship program, data corruption, etc? Each event would either have positive or negative reproductions and could alter a products development course which could ultimately lead to canceling it if things are not going well.

  • Software Sequels Take Less Dev Time When developing software features that a the previously released software contains the development time for those features should be shorter. I am not sure if this is already implemented into the game.

  • Setting a Release Date Set an application release date to increase hype for a product being released, but failing to meet the expected release date would result in bad rep and decrease the players fan count.

  • Ability to Develop Add-ons/Updates Developing add-ons and applying updates to already released applications would give the ability to increase the applications lifetime. Some options could be, patches that increase the applications stability and experience, new content (need to figure out a good way to integrate this, since some programs should not be allowed to upgrade to certain features as the applications wouldn?t be able to support it), new features for games such as adding additional maps or missions.

  • Software Subscriptions Ability to add a monthly fee for the use of software.

  • Market and Software Trends Adding dynamic market trends based on how saturated the market is with a certain product. Maybe something to add for modders to mess around with?

  • Application Pricing Improvements A products quality should also influence the number of sales and pricing. Another item is to change the pricing after X years, such as a price drop or sale.

  • Internal Leaks Information is leaked to the public of a current project this could result in a good or bad outcome, it depends on the rumors and how well the program is.

  • Better Marketing System Currently the marketing system is rudimentary, usually companies spend upwards of 100k on marketing for a product. I would like to see more marketing options or at least make it available to modders.

Couple questions regarding modding software types.

Features on a software can you set the popularity? If so how does this effect the software's category popularity popularity?
For example:
Software: Test has a popularity of 0.5
Category: Computer has a popularity of 0.5
Feature: Test Feature has a popularity of .9
How are the popularity tags added together? Is there a formula, such as taking the average or do they override each other?

How are the feature tags, <innovation>, <usability> and <stability> added together?

Does adding <Retention> or <Iterative> tag to a feature do anything?

I am trying to develop a mod to generate a more realistic experience with the market in the game. I read the wiki page for more info but it just gives a brief overview of the elements and tags.
